Soft
lens types
One
day spherical These lenses correct both long and short sightedness,
they are now also available in progressive form and a limited
range for astigmatism. The lenses do not require solutions
or cleaning and are thrown away at the end of each day. Brands
include Johnson and Johnson 1-day Acuvue and CIBA Vision Focus
Dailies.
One month frequent replacement
lenses
This product is used for a month and then replaced. The lenses
are removed and cleaned at the end of each day with the solution
provided. At the beginning of each month the patient uses
a new pair of lenses, a new case and a new bottle of solution.
They are available for most prescriptions as single vision
spherical or toric (for astigmatism) or progressive and sometimes
bifocal. Many of these lenses can be tinted or coloured to
change the appearance of your eyes.
We can supply Johnson and Johnson Acuvue, Acuvue 2 and Survue;
CIBA Vision Focus, Focus Toric and Focus Progressives; CooperVision
Proclear Compatibles, Frequency 55 and Frequency Torics; or
most other brands.
30 day extended wear
CIBA Vision and Bausch & Lomb manufacture silicone hydrogel
soft lenses which can be worn for up to 30 days prior to removal.
These lenses may also be removed at the end of each day and
cleaned with solution. Thus this product is the ideal lens
for active lifestyles and weekends away. They must be thrown
away and replaced at the end of each month.
