We are all taking part in more sports these days and often one of the most vital pieces of equipment is over looked.

Wearing the right type of eyewear during sport is vital both to your safety and your performance. We have specialist eye wear for a variety of sports, from swimming to cycling, and golf to snooker. Each sport requires something different, be it for corrective vision, safety, or both. Look at the areas covered below to find out more. If your sport is not covered here please contact us and we may be able to help you.

Indoor Sports

What ever your sport you will know the benefits of increased peripheral vision. Specialist spectacles will help increase your performance and make the fact that you wear glasses no longer a factor in your performance. Sports such as snooker will benefit from specially designed frames whereas Sports goggles can help protect the eyes during high velocity games such as squash.

Water Sports

From sailing and surfing, to swimming and diving each sport has its own specific needs. We can advise you on the type of lens and frame that you will need and your sports eyewear will be built from robust materials specifically designed not to break whilst you are taking part in these sports. Prescription goggles and diving masks are available to help you see better under water and to fit your face better.

Outdoor sports

Designed to stay put when other spectacles would have fallen off, these glasses will often feature a combination of protection from bright sun light and from being hit by objects. A variety of differet coloured lenses and frames are available to suit your needs, for example, amber or rose lenses can often enhance the light grey shadows found on the ski slope.

Sports safety

Whilst taking part in any sport your eyes are under high risk of being hit by the ball, other players or other objects. Frames today are made from a high impact resistant plastic and have rubber padding on the side to cushion any blows. To meet safety standards, the lenses are made from polycarbonate, which is the most impact resistant lens material currently available. These lenses have UV protection and are also scratch resistant. Contact us for advice on finding frames to suit your way of unwinding.
